Hi friends! It's been a little while since I posted on the blog. For those of you who don't know my husband and I bought a house and began remodeling before moving in. Remodeling and moving with a toddler is no joke but we are finally starting to see some things come together!
The first update I have is our living room. Although there wasn't a whole lot that needed to be done, it is still a huge improvement from when we bought it!
Here are the before photos. As you can see there was carpet covering the beautiful hardwood floors, ugly window treatment, and it just needed a fresh coat of paint. The before and after's are both cell phone pictures but they give you a pretty good idea!
Here are some better photos taken with my camera to show more detail. I will try to include where I found the decor :)
This planter I made myself with floral foam, artificial fern pieces, and a plastic pot (ceramic was too heavy) all from Hobby Lobby about a year and a half ago. The macrame plant hanger was also from Hobby Lobby and I don't think they carry them anymore but I'm sure amazon carries something similar!
The curtains are the Ritva from Ikea and I have them in a couple other rooms in the house! Rods are also ikea and for the price I think they look great!
This gorgeous couch I found on a local selling page for FIFTY DOLLARS. Yes you just read that right.. I still can't believe I snagged it for some an amazing price. Its vintage and in amazing condition. Always check yardsale pages and Facebook Market Place you just never know what people are selling.
Throw pillows were a clearance find a couple years ago from Homegoods and the throw is actually a light weight duvet from Ikea. Easy to wash and super cozy/oversized.
This rocker I had in Fletcher's room at our old house and it kind of just landed here. It was a gift but I believe it was from Amazon. I like to have a chair along with the couch and I think it looks nice.
This beautiful side table was a house warming gift from my sweet aunt and I'm obsessed! Lamp is also a clearance find from Tjmaxx about a year ago. I love that we used a lot of our items we already had in this new space!
Our rug is from Rugs USA and I love that it ties in those golden tones. It is definitely approved by Fletcher and my dog lol.
Here's a little glimpse into our hallway/master bedroom. The light fixture is from All Modern and I love how it ties in with our mid century home's roots. The basket with our snake plant is from Target.
Here is where I am storing Fletcher's Montessori toys. I love having a place to put different stations he can get to easily. Providing a few different things for him allows him to use his imagination and not feel so overwhelmed. Baskets are from Target. Tool box is Bannor Toys and rainbow is from Little Sapling Toys.
I keep a basket of books so that he can flip through and look at them independently. We also like to read them together. The wool colored balls are just wool dryer balls I found on Amazon made with organic materials. He loves them and its nice to have something more gentle to play with inside. We keep toy storage in Fletcher's room and I've been switching out the toys every week or every other week to keep things interesting.
Thanks so much for reading! I can't wait to show you guys the big kitchen update! We still have a little while until it's completely done but I think it's going to be worth it!
