Hey everyone! After taking the summer off, I am back with a blog post! Fletcher is two and I cannot believe how fast the last couple of years have went! I wanted to throw him a special party with his friends before he becomes a brother and I must say it turned out better then I could have hoped for.
Fletcher is obsessed with the book "I Want My Hat Back" by Jon Klassen and I thought it could be a super cute theme. I couldn't find any other parties for inspiration so I made the theme our own and to be honest it was really fun making it from scratch. I ended up going out of my comfort zone and brought lots of color which I knew Fletcher would love. I tried to incorporate a few of his favorite things; balloons, bright colors, and "I Want My Hat Back". Mission accomplished!
This balloon arch was one of my main items I wanted to create for his party. I saw a colorful one on Pinterest that inspired me so I bought all the colors I wanted for the theme and a friend helped create it the day before. I added this cute felt banner from Amazon underneath and I am obsessed!
To save money I knew I wanted to make his cake. I am no baker by any means but I must say I am quite proud with the turn out! I got the little bear from Hobby Lobby for just a couple dollars and the candle from Amazon. I think the sprinkles really gave it the finishing touch I was looking for!
The cupcake toppers I had found on Amazon and they had some of the same animals as the book! They worked perfect and finished them off perfectly. Not pictured is the cake plates and animals ears I bought for the kids. The day flew by so quickly that I forgot to photograph them. I found them on Sweet Lulu and was so pleased with how well they went!
As you can see the ears were adorable! Even on our doggie guest :p
I found his shirt super last minute online at Uniqlo and the only size left was his. I took that as a sign and ordered it. Like I said before, it's hard finding things in this theme so I was happy to stumble upon this after searching over and over!
Last minute I decided to get a pinata because I had already done the bouncy house (also forgot to take pics because Fletcher was terrified of it), why not complete it with a piñata right? Lol This cute one was only $13 from Walmart! I filled it with Teddy Grahams, lollipops, and some random little toys I thought the kids would like. Seemed to be a hit!
All in all it turned out to be a great day celebrating our little guy! I hope you enjoyed getting a closer look at his party!
